Sometimes, I need an extra kick in the pants to wear my pants. Or short pants. I love my skirts and dresses, but I’ll skip over the legged garments unless they come up in my closet rotation.
These shorts have actually been at the front of my closet rotation for at least a week. As I shared in How to Wear Your Entire Closet, I rotate my skirts (and dressy pants and shorts), work dresses, and play dresses like the stock on a grocery store shelf. The shorts came up as “fresh,” but I kept finding reasons to reach behind them to the next item: it’s too cold, they’re too short, my black tights are all ruined, they’re too delicate for a day with doggies. I finally ordered some more We Love Colors tights and wore the shorts on a mild day for a coffee date with my friend Frank and a drive to Monterey. When I get back, they’ll rotate to the back and I hope not to be so stumped by them the next time they come to the front.
