Pumpkin Brewster

· A punky, autumn outfit ·

Punky Brewster continues to be one of my style inspirations. No matter that I’m 42 and she was 7. I like her style.

This dress never fails to give me some “Punky Power.” Since it’s autumn, though, I’ll amend that to “Pumpkin Power.” This is the time of year I stock up on canned pumpkin and make endless pumpkin spice smoothies. My dogs get in on the pumpkin action, too, with pureed pumpkin mixed into their meals. I don’t plan any pumpkin pie, though, for Thursday. Instead, we’re having cranberry-pecan squares for dessert.

Vest, AC-3998 (cut from a thrifted jacket). Sweater, Forever 21 (thrifted). Dress, Jams World (thrifted). Leggings, Always. Earrings, Article Consignment. Bag, A+ by Aldo. Bag strap, Lam Gallery. Sunglasses, Marc Jacobs.

Two, previous, Punky Brewster-inspired looks:

And, now, I see that I tend to pair western boots with my Punky looks.

I don’t think you should put ‘cranberry-pecan squares’ out on the interwebs without a recipe!

I was thinking the same thing about the pumpkin spice smoothie haha! Both sound delightful!

I just add pumpkin purée and pumpkin pie spice to my standard smoothie mixture. Nothing special!

That is such a cute dress and must be the most fun thing to coordinate with! I need me a dress like this!

The pattern is pretty crazy! I don’t like the way the top is cut, or how the colors look next to my face, so I tend to wear something to camouflage that.

since you were wondering about so-called normal people, let me just say that I could never wear that outfit- not on Halloween, not to a party. and even in college, I would not have worn it. The tights- never. the distance between your wardrobe and the rest of us- light years. a lot of your outfits to me are just like a painting that I am looking at – a collage, but not an outfit for me.

I do like to consider clothing as wearable art.
