In my downtime, I’m researching photo locations for sessions with clients. Today, I visited Historic Folsom. Other than the river and maybe the train station, it isn’t a great spot to shoot portraits. But I enjoyed the sunshine, the scenery, and a porter at the Folsom Hotel bar.

Jacket, Jessica Simpson (thrifted). Skirt, Flying Tomato (consignment). Boots, Ariat. Sunglasses, Earthbound Trading Co. Earrings, flea market. Bag, Rebecca Minkoff.

Even if I don’t return to take pictures, I’ll definitely be back to eat, drink, and shop! The one store I really wanted to visit, Bohemi Blu Boutique, was closed, so I must return!

Our local photographer has permission to shoot at an abandoned cement factory in our small town. There is always interesting graffiti and textures. I don’t know if you can find something similar near you but it sure makes for some amazing senior pictures for teenagers.

Sacramento has wonderful murals, some street-style, in the midtown area. I’m not sure if there is something similar in Folsom. I’m trying to find spots in outlying areas so that all my clients don’t have to travel to Sacramento for shoots.
