I pulled on these boots for the last time, today. I thrifted them at Goodwill just over five years ago. I was hesitant to try this western shortie style, thinking it would make my legs look stumpy, but found them flattering instead. The heel is all rubber, giving me the bounce to walk at least a hundred miles. The pleather was impervious to water (and salt water) for years, so they doubled as stylish galoshes. Finally, though, that faux leather has cracked and the stitching has frayed and it’s time to let them go.
Jacket, BCBG Max Azria (consignment). Sweater, Full Tilt (thrifted). Scarf, gift. Shorts, Free People (thrifted). Leggings, Allen B. Boots, Style & Co. Sunglasses, Target.
Real leather couldn’t have stood up to the punishment I put these shoes through, but, with care, it would have lasted longer. I can’t complain since I’m sure I didn’t pay more than $10 for the boots, real leather or not.
