Alaska 8-day Fall Capsule

· Not just Alaska, but Idaho and Washington, too ·

It feels like fall up North! I was excited to bust out the boots, wool, velvet, and fur.

I traveled to Anchorage to present a seminar and stayed for the weekend, visiting with family and friends. On the way to Alaska, I also presented in Idaho (Boise) and Washington (Spokane). The trip was a mix of sun and rain, warm and cold. I was prepared for anything with this capsule!

The capsule palette was red, brown, black, gray, olive, and cream. Consistent with my locations, I chose jewelry that reflected the natural world: crystals, feathers, wood, and hammered metal.

These are the capsule items:

Blazer (DKNY Jeans)
Kimono (thrifted)
Poncho (Christopher and Banks)
Raincoat (REI)
Dress (Banana Republic)
Blouse (Daniel Rainn)
Long-sleeved tee (Ralph Lauren)
Tee (Western Connection)
Jeans (Lucky)
Wool skirt (Hauber Sporting Life)
Pleather skirt (Mossimo)

Black booties (Vionic)
Olive booties (Blondo)
Loafers (ASOS)

Beanie (Who What Wear for Target)
Scarf (Claire’s Boutique)
Necklaces – 2 (Zad and Urban Outfitters)
Earrings – 5 (Self-made, Claire’s Boutique, World Market, Francesca’s Boutique, and a tourist shop)

Capsule evaluation
Pros: This was a comfortable and stylish capsule. I love my little red raincoat. The items layered well for warmth and interest.
