A 100-year old trend cycles back, again. The soft, brimmed caps make me think of working boys of the early 20th century.

I’ve nearly gotten rid of this hat, and a similar cap in gray wool, a half-dozen times over the past few years. I did donate a brown tweed version. I don’t know if they were in style the first time I wore them (mid-2000’s), but they are certainly hip, now.

Shirt, Banana Republic (thrifted). Skirt, American Eagle (overdyed). Boots, Blondo. Hat, Pangaea. Necklace, thrifted. Belt, thrifted. Bag, A+ designed by Aldo. Bag strap, Lam Gallery.

I still have my gray cap, but the brown tweed one is gone:

Those types of hats are super cute, but they look so weird on me so I don’t wear them!

They can look weird . . . I wonder how much of that is we are not used to seeing them on ourselves.
