· Do good deeds ·
I’ve resumed my nightly habit of reading buddhist texts. Last night, I began the essay, Karma and Its Fruit, by Nyanaponika Thera (from Entering the Stream). As I do not believe in reincarnation, I take the karma doctrine as secularly as possible. I do not worry about my karmic debt from a past life or the potential for enlightenment in the next. Instead, I consider how my actions will influence another person, in this life, and how we might set up a chain of good deeds.
Today, I began a volunteer project that I believe will help others (details to come), and wore khaki to do so.
